Mr. light series desk version

powder coated steel, ash, T5 LED tubes

A exploration of desk and task lights that borrows and builds upon the desgin language started with the Mr.light series.
The new members of the Mr. light family are two junior ones. These desk versions are very different in character amosgst themselves.
The first one a more literal formal language interpretation of its bigger sibilings with two very different moods by just changing the position.
The second one a more proper task light with many different positions alowed by its internal hinges.

M trestle

powder coated steel, ash, laminated plywood

Continuing the exploration of new structures and material combinations, the M trestle proposes a new solution for a foldable trestle table that can be
arranged in various ways or fold flat for storage when not in use.

La Estirada

materials: Spot light, stretchy fabric and metal ring.

La Estirada is a collection of light experiments based on the idea of capturing the light while traveling through the space. A white fabric stretches between a spotlight and a ring capturing and diffusing the beam of light.
For the OK exhibition at Mother space during London design festival 2009, three lights where installed using the 6 meters height of the space.

Buon Appetito

Andrew Haythornthwaite & Jordi Canudas
Paper waste, fabric

Buon Appetito is a system to process and feed paper waste into a growing sculptural furnishing for people to seat, lean and relax.
We ask the question, what if, instead of disguising our paper waste in neat bins, we actually experienced it as part of our every day scenery and environment?

E8

Material: lacquered solid redwood

The E8 table is based on an observation of an impromptu composed piece of war time furniture that ended up as a dining table. The long and narrow format allows it to be used as an
every-day work and kitchen table, where temporary items such as laptops or paperwork can easily sidestep during meal times. With its overhangs it serves as a twelve person dining table.

Earl Grey

Material: matt coated aluminium / copper / steel

A system of rotating T-pieces gives the Earl Grey light the desired amount of flexibility. Built with compact and slim proportions, this family of lights consists of several members that all host
eco-halogen light sources.

Keel Table

Material:  ash and cast Iron

The detachable leg is inspired by the drop down keel used for smaller sailing boats. The tables are assembled by inserting the leg downwards through a gap in the table top and securing
it with a wedge from underneath. Equally easy to setup and knock down to pack flat. The tables are part of a series of furniture utilising a similar knock-down construction

Pleated Pleat
Borrowing a technique used in fashion production, Raw-Edges folds and re-folds DuPont™ Tyvek® to create a series of plush seats. The method of pleating allows the flat, non-elastic
material to become a springy, three-dimensional cushion when filled with soft polyurethane foam.

Grove
Revolving paper trees planted on a non revolving paper and wood console Table.

Twist

Materials: candles and plastic

A simple hand operated cutting tool incorporated into the candle holder is used to create a screw thread in a standard 22mm candle. The thread is used as the basis for a series of
experimental holding and connecting solutions that are both safe and stable, and easy to use.
Although functional, the products appear both playful and decorative.
