| Yael Mer & Shay Alkalay |
| Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2006. Mer’s focus is on turning two dimensional sheet materials into curvaceous functional forms, while Alkalay is fascinated by how things move, function and react. Together they work as Raw-Edges and share a common goal: to create objects that have never been seen before. They have won the British Council Talented Prize at Milan. With works that have been exhibited at Johnson Trading in New York, FAT in Paris, Paul Smith in Tokyo and Scope Art Fair, Basel, as well as at charity auctions with Phillips de Pury & Co and Christie’s. And also currently have ‘Stack’ in production with Established & Sons, and ‘Pivot’ with Arco. Their work is in the Design Museum collection. |
